In Dynamics AX 2012, how to clone a check design and add it to the AX’s standard layout

We are going to show you, how to clone a check design, make changes and put it to the standard layout.

First, we have to duplicate the Visual Studio design, with all of its objects.

imagen2

Inside of AX, we create a new enum, in this case called TestCheque

imagen3

We proceed to duplicate a “MenuItem” in the next route:

MenuItems / Output / Cheque_US and in the property LinkedPermissionObject we assign the duplicated report of Visual Studio, the new MenuItem is going to be called Cheque_US_2

imagen4

We proceed to modify the next classes to validate our new design.

–          BankChequePrint / printDocument(), we add a new case to execute the duplicated report

imagen5

–          CustVendCheque / getSlipText(), we add the type of check that we create earlier

imagen6

–          CustVendCheque / slipTxtLine, we add the type of the check to the Layout

imagen7

–          ChequeController / classDeclaration()

imagen8

–          ChequeController / init()

imagen9

Once we have done this, we proceed to see the configuration of the check in a payment journal

imagen10

We create a new payment journal and go to the Lines

imagen11

We choose an offset account, in this case it will be the Bank.  We make a right click / see Details:

Configurate / Check

And finally, we can choose the format that we create recently as below:

As you see, we clone a check design, make changes and add it to the standard layout.

    Hi,

    I have done all steps given by you.

    But i got an error “Check Layout Does not exist”

    Please help me…

    • Itsuki Minami

      Can you detail a little more what did you do? With those steps it should work. Did you deployed the report.

    • Francis Omoruto

      For testing, you also need to look at the BankPrintTestCheque class. That’s the one that raises those “Check Layout Does Not Exist” errors
